He was my beloved Ghibli born with the name of Elian delle Bambole , lost after 10 years, on 23/11/2011, due to an incurable disease.
This creature has literally changed my life, saving me from the abyss of depression and giving me a dream to be accomplished for others : Pet Therapy .
Ghibli was lying on my chest every time I had a tachycardia attack, he did funny things when I was down in the dumps , licked my tears when I cried and never left me alone, as if he knew that I was the one who had so much need of him by me. It was impossible, therefore, not to notice hiis being special and healing .
Ragdolls Cats have that peculiar sensitiveness that perhaps humans have lost , and so at IPSE Psychological European Institute of Varese believed in me, in Ghibli , in the benefits of Pet Therapy, and that’s how started our project : Project Ghibli – healing animals .
In recent years we have created a multidisciplinary team, we studied and worked hard, even taking part in the first research project on the benefits of pet therapy with Alzheimer’s patients with mild or moderate level .
Pet Therapy is wonderful but stressful at times, and be in good health certainly helps to offset what you are looking to give to others with what they give you.
I do not know how many cats ” operate ” really in this area, but I know that Ghibli and I have successfully passed a practical examination receiving a final certificate , and that he has shown a great inner balance (a characteristic that distinguishes all operators Pet 4-legged and their human companions ) . Cats , I fear, are often underestimated.
Unfortunately Ghibli ‘s gone too soon but our bond was so strong that I wanted to give him , in my own way , a little piece of immortality to thank him for having been such an important part of my existence.
For love. Out of gratitude . But also because he really deserves to have a special place in the world and not only in my heart.
